Students Show off Aeromodelling Talent at 'Wings and Wind 2017'


The 3rd District Level Aero Modelling Competition 'Wings and Winds 2017' was kick-started this morning at Kumaraguru College of Technology. Regarded to be Coimbatore's Premier Aeromodel Air Show, the event was organised by Sky High Academy, Aeromodelling Hobby Zone and Jet Aerospace Aviation Research Centre. Mr. Ragupathi, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax Department was the Chief Guest for the event. The event that started at 6 am in the morning concluded at 1 pm. And, close to 200 participants from various parts of the district exhibited their talent and passion for aero modeling at the event.  



Speaking on the insights of the event, Goutham, One of the Founder of Sky High Academy, said 'We are glad to organise the 3rd District Level Aero Modelling Competition at KCT. Close to 200 school and college students have took part in today's event featuring Chuck Glider, Catapult Glider, Control Line Aerobatic, Remote Control Event. The students exhibited their talent and passion for aero modelling before the audience and the Chief Guest. Not just the participants, the audience were also enthralled to see the small gliders pierce the wind. 'Wings and Wind', aims to create a platform for students who are passionate about aero modelling'.



The winners of the competition were awarded with cash prizes and certificates by the Chief Guest, Mr. Ragupathi, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax Department. He appreciated the students for proving their talent and encouraged them to work harder to achieve great heights.   



Sudarsan, Founder of Sky High Academy, Chandra Babu, Founder of Aeromodelling Hobby Zone, Bala and Arul Jothi from Jet Aerospace Aviation Research Centre had organised this event.
