Vadugapalayam Railway Gate Reopens for Public Use: Pollachi V. Jayaraman Celebrates with Sweets Distribution

Vadugapalayam railway gate in Pollachi reopens after closure, thanks to efforts by former minister V. Jayaraman. Public rejoices as inconvenience ends.

Coimbatore: The Vadugapalayam railway gate in Pollachi's Selvakumar Extension area, which has been operational for a century, was reopened for public use on August 5th, following persistent efforts by former minister and Pollachi MLA Dr. V. Jayaraman.

The railway administration had abruptly closed the gate without prior notice, causing significant inconvenience to the general public, students, and those accessing medical facilities. This closure particularly affected residents of the Selvakumar Extension area.

Dr. V. Jayaraman, who also serves as the ADMK's Election Division Secretary and Tirupur Urban District Secretary, took up the issue with the District Collector and senior railway officials. He submitted a petition requesting the reopening of the gate for public use until alternative arrangements like an overbridge or subway could be constructed.

Following the reopening, Dr. Jayaraman visited the area and was warmly welcomed by the local residents, who expressed their gratitude for his intervention. The former minister celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets to the public, sharing in their joy and relief.

The reopening of the Vadugapalayam railway gate has brought much-needed respite to the local community, restoring easy access and connectivity in the area. The incident highlights the importance of public infrastructure and the role of elected representatives in addressing community concerns.
