Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has announced the introduction of a special weekly train service between Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and Barauni, Bihar. This new service aims to enhance connectivity between the southern and eastern parts of India.
According to the official statement, the Coimbatore-Barauni special weekly train (No. 06059) will depart from Coimbatore every Tuesday from August 13 to September 3, 2023. The train is scheduled to arrive at Barauni station on Thursdays at 2:30 PM.
For the return journey, the Barauni-Coimbatore special weekly train (No. 06060) will leave Barauni every Friday at 11:45 PM from August 16 to September 6, 2023. It will reach Coimbatore station on Mondays at 3:45 AM.
The train will make stops at several important stations along its route, including Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Perambur, Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Vijayawada, Eluru, Rajahmundry, Parvatipuram, Rayagada, Muniguda, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Hatia, Ranchi, Muri, Bokaro Steel City, Dhanbad, Chittaranjan, and Madhupur.
This special train service is expected to benefit passengers traveling between Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar, providing a direct rail link between these states during the specified period.
