Karpagam Institute of Technology's NSS Unit partnered with OTPw Foundation CBE on August 9, 2024, to address illiteracy, poverty, and environmental issues through sustainable initiatives in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The NSS Unit of Karpagam Institute of Technology has entered into a significant partnership with OTPw Foundation CBE, Coimbatore, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 9, 2024. This collaboration aims to create lasting, sustainable changes in children's lives by tackling the root causes of illiteracy and poverty.
The MoU also focuses on environmental conservation efforts, with plans to prevent environmental degradation and promote sustainable living through tree planting initiatives. This comprehensive approach addresses both social and ecological challenges faced by the community.
Mr. B. Sureshkumar, Treasurer, and Mr. B. Rajasekar, Co-ordinator of OTPw Foundation CBE, Coimbatore, signed the MoU on behalf of their organization. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. P. Manimaran, Principal of Karpagam Institute of Technology.
The event was also attended by Dr. S. Gopinath, NSS Programme Officer, along with other NSS Co-ordinators, highlighting the importance of this partnership for the institute's social outreach programs.
This collaboration between an educational institution and a non-profit organization is expected to create new opportunities for students to engage in community service and gain hands-on experience in addressing real-world problems.
