Coimbatore Mayor Inaugurates Storm Water Drain and Mini-Bridge Construction in Ward 27

Coimbatore Mayor Ranganaayaki inaugurated the construction of a 950-meter storm water drain and four mini-bridges in Ward 27, Peelamedu, on August 19, 2024. The project, valued at Rs. 30 lakhs, aims to improve local infrastructure.


Coimbatore: Mayor Ranganaayaki Ramachandran officially launched the construction of a storm water drain and four mini-bridges in Ward 27 of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation's North Zone on Monday (August 19, 2024). The project, estimated to cost Rs. 30 lakhs from the general fund, will cover a distance of 950 meters along Kriamman Kovil Street in Peelamedu.

The initiative aims to enhance the area's drainage system and improve local infrastructure, addressing longstanding concerns of residents in the ward. The construction of mini-bridges is expected to facilitate better connectivity and ease of movement for the local population.



Following the inauguration, Mayor Ranganaayaki inspected the ongoing cleaning work under the Textool flyover in Ward 29 of the North Zone. She was accompanied by corporation officials during this inspection, ensuring that the cleanliness drive was progressing as planned.



The event was attended by several key officials, including Deputy Mayor R. Vetri Selvan, North Zone Chairman V. Kathirvel, Assistant Commissioner Sridevi, Ward Councilor Ambika Dhanapal, Assistant Engineer Ezhil, and other corporation officers. Their presence underscored the importance of the project and the administration's commitment to improving urban infrastructure in Coimbatore.
