Out of 30,296 government schools in Tamil Nadu, 21,659 have already been given Fiber to Home connections, including 1,271 in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: BSNL Tamil Nadu Chief General Manager Banavathu Venkateshwaralu and Coimbatore District BSNL Principal General Manager Sankar met with reporters today at the Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore, where BSNL is hosting sports competitions.
Sankar stated that 4G services would be provided in over 500 remote villages across Tamil Nadu. In Coimbatore, five villages in the Anaikatti area have already received direct 4G service, with plans to extend it to eight more areas. He added, "Within two months, 4.5 lakh users have joined BSNL services, and 2 lakh users have switched from other telecom providers to BSNL. The demand for BSNL services has significantly increased recently."
Regarding BSNL's Fiber to Home connections, Sankar reported that 5 lakh connections have been provided in Tamil Nadu so far, with 45,000 active connections in Coimbatore and Nilgiris regions. He announced plans to double the number of Fiber to Home connections within the next year. Additionally, out of 30,296 government schools in Tamil Nadu, 21,659 have already been given Fiber to Home connections, including 1,271 in Coimbatore.
Banavathu Venkateshwaralu assured that BSNL would not increase mobile tariffs. He mentioned the availability of a 24/7 WhatsApp chatbot to assist users and stated that a user could obtain up to nine BSNL SIM cards. "We will implement BSNL 4G services across Tamil Nadu within two months. 5G services will be introduced by the end of this year," he announced.
The Chief General Manager emphasized that all equipment for BSNL 4G services is sourced only from Indian manufacturers, including TCS. He also assured 100% security for user data, stating, "Only government organizations like CBI have the right to access data, and no one can obtain user data without their permission."
BSNL plans to establish a large 24/7 center in Trichy within the next two months to support its partners and technical artists. This move is part of BSNL's efforts to enhance its services and support infrastructure across the state.
