Vinayagar Idol Production in Full Swing in Coimbatore: Sizes Range from 5 Inches to 10 Feet

As Vinayagar Chaturthi approaches, Coimbatore artisans are busy crafting Vinayagar idols ranging from 5 inches to 10 feet. Eco-friendly materials and diverse designs mark this year's production.



Coimbatore: With Vinayagar Chaturthi just a week away, the production of Vinayagar idols is in full swing in Coimbatore. Artisans are working tirelessly to craft and paint a wide variety of idols to meet the festive demand.



Following the guidelines set by the district administration and police, the idols are being made in sizes ranging from 5 inches to 10 feet in height. The authorities have mandated that the idols should not exceed 10 feet in height.



In line with environmental concerns, the idols are being crafted using eco-friendly materials such as clay and paper pulp. The artisans are using distemper paint for coloring the idols, ensuring minimal impact on the environment when immersed.



This year's production showcases a diverse range of Vinayagar idols, including unique designs like Matsya Vinayagar, Simha Vinayagar, Panchamukha Anjaneya with Vinayagar, Bike Vinayagar, and Kangaroo Vinayagar. These creative interpretations have caught the attention of buyers.



The idol makers are witnessing enthusiastic response from various sections of society, including the general public and political party members. People are eagerly purchasing the idols, reflecting the festive spirit and cultural significance of Vinayagar Chaturthi in Coimbatore.

As the festival draws near, the city is abuzz with preparations, and the colorful Vinayagar idols are becoming a common sight across Coimbatore, adding to the festive atmosphere.
