Woman Seeks Action Against Brother for Fraudulently Acquiring Her Free House Plot in Pollachi

A woman from Thenkumarapalayam filed a complaint with the Sub-Collector in Pollachi, alleging her brother fraudulently registered her free house plot in his name using fake documents.

Coimbatore: In a distressing case of alleged property fraud, a woman from Thenkumarapalayam in Anaimalai block has sought intervention from the Pollachi Sub-Collector against her brother for allegedly usurping her free house plot.

Parvathi, the complainant, attended the weekly grievance redressal meeting at the Sub-Collector's office in Pollachi on Monday. Holding placards, she submitted a petition detailing her ordeal.

According to Parvathi, the government had allotted her a two-cent plot of land for free in 1996 in Thenkumarapalayam. As a widow, she had planned to construct a house on this land and had been regularly paying the house tax. However, when she attempted to build the house, government officials denied permission.

Upon investigation, Parvathi discovered that her brother Muthusamy and his son Narayana Moorthy, who is the current DMK-affiliated president of the Thenkumarapalayam panchayat, had allegedly created fake documents and registered the land in their name at the Komangalam Sub-Registrar's office.

Parvathi claims that the original allotment was made to her by the Special Tahsildar for Adi Dravidar Welfare in 1996. She alleges that her brother used her Aadhaar details and a forged fingerprint to complete the fraudulent registration without her consent.

The aggrieved woman stated that despite lodging a complaint with the Coimbatore District Collector, no action has been taken. She also reported receiving death threats from her brother, which she brought to the attention of the Komangalam police station. However, she claims the police have been delaying any action on her complaint.

Parvathi tearfully added that Narayana Moorthy, leveraging his position as the panchayat president, has been threatening her, saying, "We are the ruling party. You can't do anything no matter where you complain."

Through her petition, Parvathi is urgently seeking action against her brother for the alleged fraudulent registration and misappropriation of her allotted house plot.
