Qantas-IndiGo Codeshare Launches Direct Baggage Service from Australia to Coimbatore

Qantas and IndiGo establish codeshare agreement for Melbourne/Sydney to Coimbatore flights. Passengers can now collect baggage directly at Coimbatore, marking the third Australia-CJB one-stop service.

Coimbatore: The much-anticipated codeshare agreement between Qantas Airways and IndiGo Airlines for their Melbourne/Sydney to Coimbatore one-stop flights has been officially established. This new partnership brings exciting news for travelers, offering enhanced convenience and seamless connectivity between Australia and the textile city of South India.

Under this agreement, passengers flying from Melbourne or Sydney to Coimbatore can now enjoy the convenience of collecting their baggage directly at Coimbatore International Airport upon arrival. This eliminates the need for baggage reclaim and re-check at intermediate stops, significantly streamlining the travel experience for passengers.

The Qantas-IndiGo codeshare marks the third Australia-Coimbatore one-stop service, following similar arrangements by Singapore Airlines and Air India. This development further solidifies Coimbatore's position as an important destination for international travelers and strengthens its connectivity with major Australian cities.

Bookings for these codeshare flights are now open, allowing passengers to plan their journeys with greater flexibility and ease. The Coimbatore International Airport (CJB) has expressed enthusiasm about this new service, which is expected to boost tourism and business travel between the two countries.

This codeshare agreement is a significant step in enhancing Coimbatore's global connectivity and is likely to benefit both leisure and business travelers. It also reflects the growing importance of Coimbatore as a key destination in South India, attracting international airlines to improve their services to the city.
