Coimbatore Traffic Deputy Commissioner Ashokkumar advises school bus drivers to abstain from alcohol while driving, emphasizing their role as role models for children during a road safety awareness program held on September 6.
Coimbatore: A road safety awareness program for school bus drivers and conductors was organized by the Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex and Uyir Road Safety Organization at SSVM World School in Pattanam area on Friday (Sept. 06).
Coimbatore City Traffic Deputy Commissioner Ashokkumar participated as the chief guest at this awareness event.
Dr. Manimegalai Mohan, Managing Trustee of SSVM Institutions, officials from the Coimbatore Sahodaya Schools Complex, Regional Transport Officer, and members of the Uyir Road Safety Organization were among the attendees.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Ashokkumar stated that drivers who travel with children for nearly 250 days out of 365 days should set an example by following road rules. He emphasized the importance of drivers explaining to children the significance of following road rules and the consequences of not adhering to them. Ashokkumar also urged drivers not to operate public vehicles, especially school vehicles, under the influence of alcohol.
Following his address, Dr. Manimegalai Mohan, Managing Trustee of SSVM Institutions, explained to the drivers the importance of following road rules.
Hundreds of drivers and conductors participated in this road safety awareness program, which focused on promoting safe driving practices and road safety measures.
