Thadagam police swiftly solved a chain-snatching case within three hours, arresting a minor from Bihar who stole a 10-sovereign gold chain from an elderly woman in RR Avenue, Pannimadai.
Coimbatore: The Thadagam police demonstrated remarkable efficiency by solving a chain-snatching case within three hours of the incident. The culprit, a minor boy from Bihar working as a domestic help, was arrested for stealing a 10-sovereign gold chain from an elderly woman in RR Avenue, Pannimadai.
Sivasankar and his 64-year-old wife Parvathi, who recently moved to RR Avenue near Pannimadai in Thadagam police station limits, had employed Sanjay Kumar, a minor from Bihar, as domestic help. On the evening of the incident, around 5:30 PM, when no one was outside the house, the boy snatched the 10-sovereign gold thali chain worn by the elderly woman.
Upon receiving the information, Thadagam police station's Assistant Inspector Jayaprakash formed a special team to investigate the case. Within three hours, they apprehended the suspect and recovered the stolen 10-sovereign gold thali chain.
The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police and the Deputy Superintendent of Police of Periyanaickenpalayam commended the police team for their swift action in solving the case and recovering the stolen property.
Following this incident, the police have issued a warning to the public about the potential dangers of employing individuals from other states without proper verification. They advised residents to obtain and maintain proper documentation of such employees. Additionally, the police recommended installing CCTV cameras in and around residential areas for enhanced surveillance and security.
