Tirupur: Advocate Gopinath, the State President of Hindu Munnetra Kazhagam, has called for authorities to deny permission for the Vinayagar Chaturthi procession and public meeting in Tirupur. In an interview with reporters, Gopinath expressed his concerns about the event organized by the Hindu Munnani.
Gopinath stated, "The Vinayagar Chaturthi procession conducted by Hindu Munnani has been causing various hardships to the general public. Specifically, traders are being intimidated. Additionally, law and order issues, including violent incidents, are occurring in several areas." He further emphasized that young people in the Hindu Munnani party are being misused for these events.
The Hindu Munnetra Kazhagam leader also criticized actor Vijay for not extending his wishes for Vinayagar Chaturthi, calling it condemnable. Gopinath's statements highlight the growing concerns over the impact of religious processions on public life and social harmony in Tiruppur.
