Coimbatore Corporation Council Meeting Held at Victoria Hall

The Coimbatore Corporation Council's regular meeting was held on September 13 at Victoria Hall, chaired by Mayor Raganayaki. The meeting saw heated exchanges between AIADMK and DMK councillors over administration issues.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation held its regular council meeting on September 13 at Victoria Hall in the corporation's main office complex. The session was presided over by Mayor Raganayaki and attended by Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor R Vetriselvan, Deputy Commissioner K Sivakumar, and zonal committee chairpersons including Lakshmi Ilanchelvi Karthik (East), K A Daivayani Tamilmarai (West), V Kathirvel (North), R Dhanalakshmi (South), and Meena Logu (Central). Standing committee chairpersons and members, ward councillors, zonal assistant commissioners, and other corporation officials were also present.



During the meeting, AIADMK opposition leader Prabhakaran alleged that the current administration was running a "sticker regime," implying ineffective governance. This comment sparked protests from DMK councillors, leading to a brief commotion in the council hall. The meeting resumed after the situation was brought under control.

The council meeting covered various civic issues and development projects for Coimbatore city. Despite the heated exchange, the corporation officials emphasized the need for constructive discussions to address the city's pressing concerns and improve public services.
