Dr Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, inaugurated the DST-FIST Sponsored Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Laboratory for Multidisciplinary Research at the college campus.
The laboratory has been established through a collaborative funding arrangement between the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the college management. DST sanctioned Rs 76 lakhs under the DST-FIST Level A category, while SNR Sons Charitable Trust contributed Rs 26 lakhs toward the project.
The facility houses cutting-edge equipment including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning laboratories, along with modern analytical research instruments such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). These advanced tools will enable comprehensive multidisciplinary research across various scientific fields.
Dr K Chitra, Principal of the college, emphasized the transformative potential of this new facility. She stated that the laboratory is envisioned as a hub for innovation that will foster collaborative research across disciplines and enable high-quality scientific investigations.
