Coimbatore Industrialists Push for Expanded Air India Flight Services

Kongu Global Forum has urged Air India to expand services from Coimbatore International Airport. Currently four flights operate to Delhi and Mumbai. Citing international connectivity, comfortable seating and hot meal services, industrialists demand flights to Chennai, Pune and other cities to boost regional air travel.

Coimbatore: Industrialists have strongly urged Air India and Air India Express to increase flight services from Coimbatore International Airport. This demand stems from the premium services offered by Air India, including international connectivity, comfortable seating arrangements, hot meal services, and various passenger amenities.

Speaking about this initiative, Satish, Director of Kongu Global Forum, stated, "Since the Tata Group took over management of Air India, there has been remarkable improvement in the airline's services." Currently, Air India operates four flights from Coimbatore International Airport to Delhi and Mumbai.

Satish noted that after the late industrialist Ratan Tata acquired the airline, significant enhancements became evident in its service quality. He highlighted several distinguishing features of Air India: punctual flight operations, cleanliness standards, variety of hot meals served onboard, exceptionally comfortable seating, and extensive international connectivity options through codeshare agreements.

Air India's partnerships with multiple international carriers provide seamless connectivity. For instance, passengers flying from Coimbatore to Delhi can easily connect to destinations like the United States and other countries worldwide. The convenience of single check-in at Coimbatore means passengers can collect their baggage at their final international destination without rechecking at Delhi, eliminating transit hassles.

Due to these numerous advantages offered by Air India and its subsidiary Air India Express, there is tremendous demand among travelers for their services, Satish emphasized.

He strongly advocated for Air India and Air India Express to introduce additional flights to Delhi and Mumbai from Coimbatore Airport, and to launch new services to Chennai, Pune, and various other cities, recognizing the growing travel needs of the region.

"We have submitted this request to Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. We are hopeful that new services will be launched soon," Satish concluded.
