Residents of Sivananda Colony file petition requesting the removal of a tasmac

Residents of Sivananda colony along with Annai Kasturba Women's Organization have filed a petition with the district collector requesting the removal of tasmac no. 1531. It poses a threat to school and college going children and women.

This tasmac had been operating for years together now. Drunkards abuse women and girls on the street. Rickshaw drivers are also in a drunken fit most of the time. Women are afraid to even step out into the streets.

The residents had filed a petition previously as well while Karunakaran was the district collector. However, no action was taken. The residents hope the authorities pay heed to their request and remove the tasmac from the region.
