While traversing on the national highway close to Kanniyur, 2 people died due to a car accident. A car had broken down near Kunniyur on the Salem- Pallakad highway while commuting from Tirupur to Coimbatore. People who were on 2 wheelers halted and lent a helping hand.
Another car was travelling at a high speed on the highway. Seeing that a car had broken down the driver tried to slow down, however, he was unable to do so. This lead to the both the cars colliding, injuring 8 people including those who stopped to help.
Two of them who were in a critical state, were admitted to a private hospital. Unfortunately, both of them passed away, of which Chandrasekhar died today morning due to the treatment being ineffective.
