A special bank loan camp for street vendors in Coimbatore Corporation limits was held at the Corporation’s main office and five zonal offices on August 24. Around 181 street vendors submitted applications with the required documents to avail themselves of bank loans of up to Rs.15,000.
Coimbatore: The special loan camp witnessed participation from street vendors across the five zones of the Coimbatore Corporation, with around 181 vendors submitting applications along with the required documents to avail themselves of bank loans of up to Rs.15,000.
The camp was organised under the “Lok Kalyan Mela” initiative at the Corporation’s main office and the East, West, North, South and Central zonal offices on Monday (August 24).

The initiative is aimed at facilitating access to bank credit for street vendors operating within the Corporation limits. Applicants were required to submit documents including their Aadhaar card and bank passbook to apply for the loan.
Further special camps will be held at the Corporation’s main office and all five zonal offices on August 25, 27, 28 and 29, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Corporation said.
