Over 300 cases settled in Lok Adalat at Coimbatore court


A total of 330 cases and a sum of Rs. 8.54 crore were settled in the Lok Adalat conducted at the Coimbatore Court on Saturday.

The cases included 139 pre-litigation cases and 26 money suit and cases pending before the debts recovery tribunal. Principal District Judge and the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority R. Pongiappan and Secretary V. John Mino were present during the adalat. At the adalat in The Nilgiris, a total of 2,463 cases were settled.

The total settlement made in these cases was Rs. 3.67 crore. It included settlement to the tune of Rs. 1.55 crore in 131 cases pending before the debts recovery tribunal.

The Principal District Judge A.A. Nakeeran inaugurated the camp at Udhagamandalam. Adalats were also conducted at the Gudalur, Kotagiri, Coonoor and Pandalur courts.
