60 TASMACs around the city terminated from today


TN government's initiative to reduce the liquor shops around the state has taken its first step. Around, 500 TASMAC shops will be closed with effective from 19th June, 2016, 60 shops are from Coimbatore district, out of which 31 shops are from Ooty.  The other places in the list are Chennai - 58, Madurai - 201, Trichy - 133, and Salem - 48. 

The government has also assured and to create alternate job arrangements for tasmac workers, shortly. The concerned officials are ordered to report to the district collectors briefing on the the follow up steps taken by them on closure procedures like collecting advance money back from the building owners and ensuring non functionality of the shops.  The government has urged to follow the closure procedures stringently.
