The Madukkarai area and it's sojourns with elephants doesn't seem to end. In an unfortunate turn of events today, an elephant got hit by the Kochivalli express from Bangalore and lost its life.
This happened in the railway track near a wheat godown between the Madukkarai and Ettimadai area. Three other elephants which were near this elephant escaped without getting hit.
The Forest officials had to fight real hard for nearly 4 hours to send the other accompanying elephants in to the forest.
