The prime accused who is believed to have hacked Swathi to death in the Nungambakkam Railway Station has been arrested in Thirunelveli. It is reported that he attempted suicide while he was about to be arrested.
He is a software engineer. His name is Ramkumar and reportedly hails from Sengottai.
He is currently admitted in Thirunelveli government hospital for treatment.
