Every Monday, the District Collector office would be packed with people from diverse parts of the city assembled to submit their pleas and grievances to the Collector. A brief glimpse of a few protests and pleas staged at Collectorate today:
- A group of Transgender marched towards the Collectorate to file their petition for allottment of land pattas and construction of free houses at Chinnavedampatty. They evoked the incident staged by the residents of the area against allotment of land to the transgenders. They pleaded the officials to resolve the issue swiftly and allot them with land. They put forth the view that a special board for the welfare of the Transgenders should be initiated by the government.

- The party members of Bhartiya Makkal Munnetra Kalagam filed a petition to the collector urging to intervene in the Man Vs Animal conflict issue around the region and take stern action to remove the encroachments from the animal corridors.

- A senior citizen was seen holding a board around her neck pleading the government to take action on her pending petitions filed previously.

- The Communist Party filed a petition for the issuance of free land pattas to the Arundhadhi Community people, who have been residing at Ambedkar Nagar, Kulathur for about 70 years.

- The locals of Kinathukadavu 97th ward petitioned that the encroachments on government lands have been increasing in recent times around their area. They also alleged that the police and government authorities are working in hand with the encroachers.
