Today, a Dharna was organised by the Tamilnadu Government Doctors Association led by their President Dr. Ravishankar at Government Hospital probing CBI investigation into the suspicious death of Dr. Saravanan at New Delhi.

On 10th July, 26-year-old Junior Resident Doctor Saravanan Ganesan hailing from Tirupur, Tamilnadu was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented apartment in Hauz Khas, South Delhi. flat at New Delhi. Saravanan had joined to pursue his MD at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, just 10 days ago.
It was speculated that he had injected elevated doses of potassium chloride and attempted suicide. However, Ganesan, father of Saravanan, a textile unit worker from Velliangadu denied strongly that his son would not have attempted suicide as he was in frequent touch with him over the phone. Saravanan's friends have also started a social media campaign in facebook '#JusticeforSarvanan' urging the state government to intervene in the issue and ensure justice.
Dr. Jaisingh, District Secretary of the TN Government Doctors Association along with hundreds of undergraduates and postgraduate medical participated in the protest. The protesting doctors highlighted that the students from Tamilnadu, living in North India to pursue education are facing huge safety threats. The uneasy situation at the AIIMS has actually caused the death of Saravanan, claiming it as suicide is utterly false, they outraged. Hence, they strongly advocated that the state government should intervene in the issue and seek justice for Saravana's death.
The case is currently handled by the Delhi Police who are awaiting his post-mortem report.
