A youngster has been convicted and sentenced with ten years of imprisonment for sexually abusing a minor girl.
Subhashini (14) a minor girl and Illango Karthick both hailing from the same area in Pollachi were in a relationship. On the day of the incident, Illango has tried to sexually abuse Subhashini while she was on her way to her aunt's place. The incident came to her parent's notice who squabbled with Illango which later turned into a sensational quarrel.
The next day, Subhashini immolated herself and sustained life-threatening injuries. After ten days of critical treatment, she passed away at the hospital. The All Women's Police, Pollachi filed a case against Illango and took him to custody.
Today, the Mahila Court, Judge Raja pronounced a ten year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 4000/- and convicted him under the child abuse protection act.
