More students of Sainik school suspected of food poisoning

The death of a class VI student at Sainik School, Amaravathi Nagar Udumalpet has pushed the school to close down till 24th July. 

It is suspected that he died out of food poisoning, he collapsed at the breakfast session on Friday and was rushed to the Udumalpet Government hospital, where he was declared dead.

The parents outraged that the school authorities have not communicated to them about his fever, they also demonstrated a sit-in protest at the Palani-Pollachi road alleging the school authorities. 

An apprehensive state prevailed as 24 students complained of similar ailment and were rushed to nearby hospitals, blood samples were collected from them for further investigation. 

Shortly, five more students were also admitted at a private hospital in Coimbatore suspected of food poisoning.

The authorities are awaiting the autopsy report to ascertain the reason behind Siddharth's death.
