The Farm Fresh Outlets introduced by the Tamilnadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha has been well received by the people.
The project focusses at liaising people and the farmers directly which ultimately results in trimming down indirect costs. The Vegetables and fruits are directly procured from the farmers through co-operative societies thereby enabling the public to procure them at low cost paired with high quality. The outlets have been completely computerised to generate quick and prompt bills every time.

The farm fresh outlets at Poomarket, Pal company, Saibaba Colony, Kavundampalayam, Thudiyalur, Periyanaickenpalayam, Pappanaickanur, Ondipudur, Sanganoor, Tatabad have been set up at a cost Rs. 1 Crore and has been successfully catering to the needs of the people.
The outlets provide 31 varieties of fresh vegetables and seasonal fruits to the people at a very affordable price when compared to all other distribution outlets. The outlets function on all days except Sundays between 7:00 am to 11:00 am and 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
2450 tons of vegetables have been traded through these outlets on a daily basis which vouches for the success of the project.
A resident of Saibaba Colony, Mrs Manju stated that the Farm Fresh Outlets have been very useful to them as they cater fresh vegetables especially diverse varieties of greens and seasonal fruits at low cost.
Mrs Geetha from Veerakalam, also shares a similar view. The quality of the vegetables and fruits are very much appreciable, she added. Overall the customers of the outlets applauded Tamilnadu Chief Minister's initiative focusing to uplift the standard of living of the people of Tamilnadu.
