Mettupalayam Municipal commissioner arrested for Corruption

The dramatic arrest of a corrupted Municipal officer at Mettupalayam has created shock waves amongst the officials.

Malliga, Municipal Commissioner of Mettupalayam has not been in the good books of people of Mettupalayam, ever since she took charge as Municipal Corporation Commissioner. 'The officer had been demanding a bribe from the public right from the day she took charge', outraged the public.

Anand, resident of Mettupalayam had submitted a request to the Corporation for approval of digging a bore well. The Municipal Commissioner Malliga had outwardly demanded a bribe of Rs. 5000/- for approval of the same. 

The guiltless act of the officer put Anand in frustration and decided to take the officer to the task. He narrated the happenings to the anti-corruption bureau and also filed a complaint. at the anti-corruption. The squad took his complaint earnestly and planned to set a trap for the officer. Today, Anand was given Rs. 5000/- all notes coated with a special chemical to capture the fingerprints of the officer. 

All went as per the plan, the officer took the bribe from Anand which was recorded by the corruption Squad, who were within close perimeters. They entered the scene and caught her red-handed. She was taken into custody for further investigation.

The thought-provoking act by Anand that brought a dishonest officer to the limelight was well-appreciated by the public.
