Coimbatore's fame Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) has developed a new project 'Solar Powered Mini Spinning Frame', which is yet another milestone in their success story.
The Union Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium-scale Enterprises (MSMEs) Giriraj Singh, unveiled the machine, yesterday.
The machine works for 9 hours from morning 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The mechanised ring frame has 32 spindles connected to a 2.5 KW solar energy system generates up to 10s to 60s counts of yarn.
The Union Minister applauded LMW's commitment towards corporate social responsibility and urged that similar machinery should be developed by them for Coir production.
The Khadi industry will vastly benefit and get revived through this Solar frame, he stated.
The Chairman and Managing Director of LMW asserted that this machinery will play a crucial role in minimalising power consumption and revival of the rural sector.
