2kg Gold jewellery went missing: Case Filed

Race Course police have registered a case of theft of 2.197 kg of gold ornaments from the sales representatives of a leading chain of jewellery outlets. The police said that the victim B. Jeyalal (24), of Palakkad, was working in the Thrissur branch of the outlet.

On Thursday evening, he was transporting the jewellery in two bags from the outlet’s Vellore branch to Thrissur by bus. He was travelling with a friend. On reaching Gandhipuram bus stand, he found that one of the two bags was missing. He searched for it and lodged a complaint with the Race Course Police.

The police quoted the victim as saying that he saw the bag at Salem and suspected that another passenger who got off between Salem and Coimbatore could have taken it. Police also said that they were ascertaining the legitimacy of the complaint.
