NADP announces subsidies for Horticulture farming in Coimbatore district

The Government has sanctioned Rs.444.02 lakhs for horticulture farming and Rs.1279.02 lakhs for accelerated irrigation benefit programme for the year 2016-17 in coimbatore, under the National Agriculture Development Programme (NADP).

The following horticultural farmers will get benefited through this scheme (per hectare):

1. Tissue Culture Banana sapling - Rs. 37,500/- 

2. Intensity Mango planting - Rs. 9840/-

3. Intensity Guava plantation - Rs. 17592/-

4. Hybrid vegetable farming - Rs. 20,000/-

5. Floral farmers - Rs. 16,000/-

6. Chilli plantation - Rs. 12,000/-

7.  Pepper plantation - Rs. 20,000/-

8. Renovation of hybrid Mango farms - Rs. 20,000/-

9. Integrated fertilisers management - Rs. 500/-

Crop protection

Protected crop cultivation/ Green house - Rs. 4,67,500 (per 1000 Sq.m)

Shaded net house - Rs. 3,55,000/- (per 1000 Sq.m)

Mulching - Rs. 16,000/- (per hectare)

Honey bee farming

For setting up of honey bee boxes a subsidy of Rs.1600 per box, honey filling machine Rs. 8000 (per machine)

For mechanised horticultural farming (small, micro and tribal farmers) Rs. 75,000/ per hectare. 

Crop Protection gadgets (per)

Power drillers Rs.60,000/-  Hand Sprayers Rs.500/-  and Power Sprayers (pesticide) Rs. 2500/-

Organic Farming

To set up Vermi composite Rs. 50,000/- and for setting up of Vermi composite bed Rs. 8000/- subsidy will be granted.

Post Harvest

The farmers will be given a subsidy of Rs. 2 lakhs for segregating the produce based on quality, Onion warehousing will be given Rs. 87,500 (25 mega ton capacity), to set up retail outlets Rs. 5.25 lakhs, to set up village outlets Rs. 10 lakhs and Rs. 15,000 for maintaining cold storage facilities.

Micro Irrigation Scheme

Rs. 1279.02 lakhs has been allocated under the Prime minister's accelerated Irrigation Programme. Out of which, 20% of the funds will be allotted to tribal , SC & ST farmers and 100% subsidy would be provided for small and micro small farmers, while 75% subsidy would be given for rest of the categories for setting up micro drip irrigation facilities at their farms.
