Gandhipuram bus stand gets new entrance

Top City officials flagged off the new entrance at the Gandhipuram Main bus stand.

The traffic snarl-ups and halts around the Gandhipuram bus stand is a regular phenomenon for the Coimbatorians. This bus stand is the hub for most of the buses that ply to various parts of the city. During busy hours, the traffic tails from Women's Polytechnic till Aarvee hotel.

The new passage has been created by demolishing a wall at Dr. Nanjappa Road, this will reduce the congestion of town buses that ply through Gandhipuram bus stand. The passage was levelled and police have planned to lay a bitumen road on the passage.

All TNSTC and private town buses (excluding buses heading towards Town Hall & Ukkadam area) will have to use the new entry at Dr. Nanjappa Road.

District Collector TN Hariharan, City Police Commissioner A Amalraj, and City Municipal Corporation Commissioner K Vijaya Karthikeyan inaugurated the new passage.
