Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan along with Secondary Education Scheme will be organising a special medical camp for differently abled school children, between 0-18 yrs.
The medical camp will be held at 15 panchayat union across the city. The District Medical department will deploy an eye specialist, ENT doctor, Physiotherapist and a Psychiatrist at the camp.
The Principal of Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and Additional Director (Medical Jobs) will also be present in the camp.
The District Welfare Officer will provide unique identity cards for the students, which will be valid across India. Artificial Limbs manufacturing Corporation of India (ALMICO), will provide necessary equipment for the differently abled children. The volunteers from various NGO'S across the city will lend their services for the camp.
A separate area has been allocated to Ganga Hospital and Smile Train foundation. They will assist and refer children with cleft lip disorder for surgery, under the Chief Minister's special scheme.
The parents and students attending the camp will be provided travel allowance and free food.
The District Collector has requested the differently abled students to make use of the camp and get benefited.
