All Christians Association stage protest against the National Educational Policy

The recent draft of the National Educational Policy by the Central Government has not been perceived well by People and Political outfits.

The All Christians Association staged a protest today in districts of Nilgiris, Erode, and Coimbatore against the amendments proposed for inclusion in the National Educational Policy.

The draft proposes that 'Sanskrit' language to be declared as a mandatory third language and also insists to add Yoga to the existing education Curriculum. The government has planned to provide Meritorious Certificates to Students who opt to learn Sanskrit, which will help them to access better higher education.

This move by the Central Government has been highly condemned by the All Christians Association, who assert that the draft in National Education Policy is against the constitutional values of equality, secularism, and pluralism.

In their protest at Red Cross Society, Coimbatore they urged that the State Government should intervene in the issue and restrict the National Educational Policy amendments across Tamilnadu.
