The Inner Wheel Club of Coimbatore has been conducting commendable campaigns and sessions to commemorate the World Breastfeeding Week.
On 1st August, the event was kick started at Masonic Hospital, Race course followed by a series of discussion sessions and seminars at various educational institutions and at Primary Health Centres.

Today, an interactive session was hosted at Seethalakshmi Maternity Hospital, Brooke Bond Road for Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.
The Maternity and Child Health Officer, Dr. Vimala applauded the Inner Wheel Club members for hosting such sterling awareness campaigns.
She addressed the participants on the importance of breastfeeding and it's impact on the health of a women. At the Q&A session, the mothers enthusiastically posted queries on breastfeeding tips and food habits. As a part of the programme, three healthy breastfed babies were selected and were awarded with special gift hampers.

The club had also organised an awareness campaign, today afternoon at Nirmala College for Women to impart the knowledge of breastfeeding and breast cancer awareness amongst the students community. Dr. Deepika from Rao hospital addressed the students and clarified their doubts on related topics.
Similar awareness camps have been planned at Coimbatore Medical College and at few rural areas, stated Harshida Wagadia, President of Inner Wheel Club, Coimbatore. Nirmala Nandakumar Secretary of the club and other office bearers were present at the event.
