Coimbatore wins the Overall Championship at the 27th District Professional & Sports Meet for Home Guards


The 27th District Professional and Sports Meet for Home Guards was flagged off on August 4th at the PRS Grounds, Near Anna Silai (Avinashi Road).

The event was jointly inaugurated by AGDP, A K Viswanathan and K. Periaiah, Inspector General of Police & Deputy Commandant General of Home Guards.

Around 1350 home guards across Tamil Nadu participated in this three-day event starting from August 4th. The event featured both sports meet and practical sessions for the upliftment of their professional skills.

Kabadi and Volleyball for both Men & Women along with a 9mm pistol shooting competition for officers cadre were conducted.

In a fiercely contested competition, the homeguards team from Coimbatore lifted the trophy. The trophies were handed over to the winners by the IG of Homeguards Mr. Periyayya, Coimbatore Police Commissioner Mr. Amalraj and Superintendent of Police Ramya Bharathi.
