City Commissioner addresses press on parasailing accident


The unforeseen accident claiming the life of Malleshwara Rao (53), a participant at the Paragliding event at Codissia grounds has shocked the people and the participants. 

The City Commissioner, Amalraj at a press meet today apprised on the unsought incident:

  • He expressed his heart-felt condolences to the family members of Malleshwara Rao.
  • Proper permissions were not obtained by the club to conduct the event. 
  • Prior information was not given to the police on the event. 
  • The club has failed to incorporate adequate safety precautions.
  • The Co-ordinator of the event, Babu has absconded since the accident and the police have set a trap for him. 
  • A case has been registered under section 304(A), Causing death by negligence at the Peelamedu Police station


The Indian Aero Sports and Science Club organized a Parasailing event at Coimbatore Medical College on Friday and Saturday to mark the golden jubilee of the institution. All required permissions and safety measures were in-line at the event.
