Premavathy Vijayan takes charge as vice-chancellor of Avinashilingam University

Premavathy Vijayan has assumed charge as the 6th Vice-Chancellor of Avinashilingam University Coimbatore. 

Premavathy was the vice-chancellor in charge since August last year and now has assumed charge as vice chancellor. She was one of the very few pioneers in the country to implement Inclusive Education in India and also a fellow member of Common Wealth British Council.

She pursued her masters (M.Sc) in Foods and Nutrition and M.Ed. at Avinashilingam Home Science College, Coimbatore. She received Diploma in Special Education from Moray House College of Education, Edinburgh University, Scotland, UK.

She has authored many books and given guest lectures at many renowned conferences and presented papers at numerous national and international seminars. She has been conducting specialised and innovative researches and has submitted papers in the field of Special Education.
