Corporation Commissioner applauds city-based NGO's on the eve of Independence day



A Special Independence day event was organised toady by a group of young social entrepreneurs of the city at Ukkadam Periyakulam Area with City Corporation Commissioner, Dr. Vijaya Karthikeyan as the Chief Guest. 



The event was focussed at celebrating the 70th Independence day along with felicitating all the NGO's of the City. Students and public fervently participated in the event and paid their tributes to the freedom fighters. The school students and the NGO's performed fascinating dance performances as well.



Vijaya Karthikeyan in his speech stated that the 'NGO's of Coimbatore have been doing a laudable job in raising the standards of the City. Ukkadam, Periyakulam is one such project that vouches for their tireless dedication. So, this event was planned to recognise their efforts and motivate them towards achieving more. Around 700 toilets have been installed across the city by volunteers from NGO's and student community.
