'European Union Film Festival' (EUFF) will be hosted at Bharathiar University from 22nd August - 24th August.
The event has been organised by the Delegation of the European Union and embassies of EU Member States, in collaboration with the Department of Communication & Mass Media Studies Bharathiar University and Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation, Chennai.
This Film festival will mark 21 years of successful journey of EUFF in India. The event has been planned at 11 prominent cities in India.
The 21st edition of the festival will feature 23 award-winning European movies of perennial themes will screened at the event. Varied genres ranging from comedy to gripping drama will be showcased at the film festival.
H.E. Mr. Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of the European Union said that ' The European Film festival has won a special place in the Indian Film calendar and in the hearts of viewers by showcasing the wry, the unexpected, the beautiful and even the tragic events of ordinary lives in unfamiliar settings'.
Dr.P.E. Thomas, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Communication and Media Studies remarked that the festival would enable viewers to experience diverse cultures, languages, and landscapes of Europe through films.
The films will be screened simultaneously in three screens at the Usha Kirtilal Mehta Auditorium starting from 11:30 am on 22nd August 2016.
