PSG College of Technology's department of Electronics and Communication Engineering today organized a two-day national workshop on 'Life and Career at the Indian Navy'. The workshop cum campus recruitment was organized in association with Headquarters of Southern Naval Command and Naval Base Kochi.
The workshop cum placement is focussed at educating the students and staffs about the ocean of opportunities in the Indian Navy. Experts from Indian Navy will be delivering keynote addresses to the students to motivate them to join the Indian Navy.
The workshop was inaugurated by Rear Admiral Subramaniam Nedunchezian NM in the presence of Mr. Rudramoorthy, Principal of PSG College of Technology.
The students were captivated by the enticing presentations and the video clippings showcasing the career opportunities in Indian Navy and their journey of life.
Captain AK Roy Choudhury, Commander M Ramasubramanian, Captain Saurabh Vasisht, Captain Rajeev John detailed on the scope of career for students from Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics departments in the Navy.
Rear Admiral Subramaniam Nedunchezian, while addressing the press regarding the National Workshop proudly stated that the Indian Navy is the 5th largest in the World.
'The continuous expansion of Naval bases demands more manpower and hence we have come up with the idea of conducting workshops and employment drives to create awareness among students on the career opportunities in Navy' he stated.
He appreciated the efforts of PSG College for organising the event and the overwhelming response from the students of PSG and also students from Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and many more places were present at the workshop. A placement drive will be initiated after this two-day session and students can enrol them to participate in the drive. The Navy Officers have planned to conduct similar workshops across India and foster students to join the Navy and serve the Nation with pride.
