DMK protestors arrested while trying to burn Speaker's effigy


The eviction of DMK MLA's by Speaker of the House S.Dhanapal, on 17th August at the TN assembly has outraged the members of the DMK party across the State. 

As a chain reaction, the DMK members have been staging protests condemning the act of the Speaker by burning his effigies and demonstrating road roko's in various parts of the state. 



Today, close to 100 members of the party were arrested at Sundarapuram for staging a road roko. The activists of DMK party were seen with kerosene bottles ready to burn the effigy of the Speaker. The police arrested the protestors for causing public nuisance by halting the traffic. 

A similar road roko was staged by the DMK Women’s Wing (South) today at Kavundampalayam. The protestors were arrested by the police as they tried to burn the effigy of Speaker Dhanapal. More than 200 members were arrested by the police.
