Panic grips walkers after series of thefts in Race Course

Niranjana (33) an employee at a Private Company had been waiting for her husband at the walking track, Race Course. A stranger who casually passed by her,  in no time, grabbed her handbag and eloped off in a bike that was readily waiting to pick him up. Niranjana was totally startled by the incident and yelled for help.

People were unable to trace the fraudster and hence lodged a complaint with the Race Course Police Station. It is reported that she had 3 sovereigns of gold jewel and cash Rs. 10,000/- and credit and debit cards in her bag.

A similar theft incident was reported on 17th August at the Race Course walking track, where a women's 7 sovereign chains was snatched by a stranger.

Race Course is a very plush area and most of the high-ranked Government officials' offices and residences are around the place with 24/7 security. Such perennial incidents have created panic among the walkers, who have insisted to deploy police at the walking zones for the safety of the people.
