Petitioners urge action against former Asst. Commissioner

The activists of the 'Popular Front of India' led by their State leader Shahul Hameed had filed a petition at the Collectorate today against the former Asst. Commissioner of the city.

The petitioners alleged that in 2006, the Asst Commissioner of Police (Intelligence dept) Rathinasabapathy had arrested a few muslims youngsters, who were members of the 'Human Justice club'. They were alleged for involving in shady & terrorists activities in the city. Several muslim organisations, political outfits, social welfare organisations came forward and raised their concerns, proclaiming the allegations as 'groundless'. After scrutinizing the final reports submitted by the Intelligence department, on 15th October the Coimbatore District Court ordered to release the youngsters.

The petitioners stated that after the judgement in 2006, no action has been initiated against the former Asst. Commissioner Rathinasabapathy for framing unfounded allegations against the Youngsters and that the officials should help the victims get due compensation from the TN govt, on priority.
