70 lakhs worth of cash seized from Jeweller

Rajendra Kumar is a jeweller from Thomas street, Coimbatore. Yesterday, Rajendra Kumar's sons Kapil Kumar and Sheera Kumar were with held by Saibaba Colony Police for possessing unaccounted cash worth Rs. 70 lakhs.

It is reported that, the brothers were standing in Saibaba colony with a bag for a long time. The Police who observed them for a brief time grew suspicious about their activities and approached them for inquiry. On inspecting, the police examined their bags and were shocked to find a sum of Rs. 70 lakhs in cash.

The police seized the bag and took them to the Saibaba colony police station for further enquiry and also intimated the incident to their father, Rajendra Kumar. As they failed to submit proper supporting documents for the seized cash, the police handed over the cash to the Income Tax department.

Today, the Income Tax officials inspected Rajendra Kumar's residence. After due submission of proper documents, the seized cash would be refunded, the IT officials stated.
