Coimbatore Corporation Grievance Redressal Meeting: Commissioner Directs Immediate Action on Petitions

A total of 63 petitions related to birth and death certificates, drinking water supply, roads, sanitation, streetlights, and other civic amenities were received from the public during the grievance redressal meeting held at the Coimbatore Corporation main office.


Coimbatore: A public grievance redressal meeting was held at the Coimbatore Corporation main office on Monday (19.05.2026) under the chairmanship of Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran and in the presence of Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabakaran.



During the meeting, members of the public from various parts of the city submitted a total of 63 petitions to the officials seeking solutions to civic issues.

The petitions included requests related to birth and death certificates, road facilities, streetlights, drinking water supply, underground drainage, professional tax, property tax, vacant land tax, new water connections, name transfer, healthcare, sanitation, education, and other basic civic amenities.



Officials stated that the petitions were received from all five zones — East, West, North, South, and Central — as well as at the Corporation’s main office.

After receiving the petitions, the Mayor and the Corporation Commissioner instructed the concerned assistant commissioners, engineers, and officials to take immediate and appropriate action on the grievances submitted by the public.



Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan, deputy commissioners, the City Chief Engineer, City Health Officer, and several Corporation officials along with members of the public participated in the meeting.
