3 school bus drivers booked for drunk driving

The city traffic police, over the last 48 hours, booked three school bus drivers for being drunk while ferrying children to school. The police, who usually bring out their alcometers only at night, decided to undertake random checks on school bus drivers following complaints of rash driving.

On Friday morning, the Wilson Garden traffic police stopped two buses of a private school. Each had around 40 children. “Both the drivers tested positive on the alcometers,” said the Wilson Garden traffic inspector.

The third person, who was booked on Thursday morning, was driving a mini-van ferrying children to a private school.
