Newly-wed women found dead, dowry harassment suspected

Shanthakumar from Kurichi and Girija (20) from Kotagiri got married, 5 months ago. Soon after their marriage, Girija was shocked to know that Shanthakumar was already married to another women. This issue created constant tussle between the couple. 

It is reported that Shanthakumar had also been troubling his wife to get a dowry of Rs. 10,000 from her parents. Yesterday, Girija was found dead at her house in a very suspicious way. The Podanur Police recovered the body and sent it to Government Hospital for post mortem. Girija's relatives staged a protest at the Hospital alleging on her husband's dowry torture as the reason for her death. The protest created a brief commotion at the Hospital premise. The police convinced Girija's relatives and eased off the situation. The police have begun their investigation to probe on the exact reason for Girija's death.
