As part of the 'Smart City' Project, the City Corporation conducted a 'Make your city smart 'competition for involving the youth and the social entrepreneurs of the City by contributing their ideas towards the upliftment of the city through the Smart City project.
Out of the huge number of ideas & innovations received from the participants, 63 projects were shortlisted by the panel of judges, comprising from the civic body and the City Corporation. The finalists presented their projects to the panel of experts at an event held in Ammani Ammal School, RS Puram. The aspect of social cause and the practicability of the projects were taken into consideration for selecting the winners.
Namrata an architect won the first price for the best proposal and second place was won by Niloffer, an architect and the third place was won by Antony Deepak, a social entrepreneur. The Corporation Commissioner, Vijaya Karthikeyan distributed the accoladed the winners with shields, certificates and cash prizes. A cash award of Rs. 50.000, 30,000 and 20,000 was awarded to the winners of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
