Residents of VK Nagar, Peelamedu today staged a protest with empty water holding utensils condemning the Corporation authorities for irregular drinking water supply to their residential colony.

The residents agitated by the disorderly water supply gathered around the dispersing tank on the Vilankuruchi Road in Peelamedu, demanding regular supply of drinking water. 'The 3-day drinking water disbursement schedule allotted to their area is not met by the Corporation authorities and it’s more than 15 days since water was dispersed', alleged the residents.
Singanallur MLA N. Karthik also extended his support to the protestors and joined the protest, as well. He insisted that, more tanking dispersing tanks should be built by the Corporation. The disorderliness in dispersing drinking water to the residents is unacceptable, as it's one of the basic amenity for the people and hence the concerned authorities should devise proper schedules to resolve the issue permanently , he said.

Following the participation of the MLA, the Corporation drinking water lorry rushed to the spot and supplied water to the residents.
